Highly experienced across Developed & Emerging Markets for the last 20 years; initially in an advisory capacity at PwC and subsequently as an Investment Director/CIO at leading investment houses. Significant investment experience across the entire investment spectrum in emerging markets particularly in South East Asia, Middle East, and Africa, both as an advisor and as a principal. Extensive corporate and debt restructuring experience.
Uday is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Corporate Finance Qualification from the same institute.
Harmit is responsible for leading the origination, structuring and execution of corporate finance and M&A transactions across the Middle East and Africa. He is also responsible for developing the client coverage strategy and client relationships (corporates, family-owned businesses, family offices, institutional investors, financial sponsors) in the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining Tradeways in 2013, Harmit was a managing director at EFG-Hermes’s Investment Banking Division based in Dubai, for 7 years. Prior to joining EFG-Hermes in 2006, Harmit worked at the Mergers and Acquisition Group of Lazard Frères in New York for 3 years and at the Investment Banking Group of Merrill Lynch in New York and London for 6 years. Harmit has considerable experience in leading the execution of M&A and capital market transactions in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the United States. He has completed the execution of over $100 billion in M&A and capital raising transactions across various sectors (telecom, financials, energy and power, transport, consumer, real estate, industrials, F&B, healthcare)
Harmit received his B.Sc. From Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, in 1998 with a major in Electrical Engineering (graduated Summa Cum Laude).
